The name says it all, because two ensembles could hardly be further apart. On one side there is a Big Band, sixteen musicians whose core skills do not necessarily include playing softly, and on the other there are six female singers, whose greatest strength lies in their control of the finest nuances. There are, however, unifying elements — the search for new shores, for sounds and structures that have never been heard before, and the joy of experimenting. These elements form the common thread that runs through Jan Schreiner’s compositions.

Special Reality Mixtapes is a 2013 album by Michael Kuhn, best known to his fans as NAH. Its company origins are unknown and it may not exist but NAH persists. This one is a blend of his experimental rock plus hip-hop flavored instrumentals.

Other is a 2012 EP by Michael Kuhn, who is better known under the mononym NAH. This was self-released by Mr. NAH (Kuhn), who also wrote, performed, recorded and produced everything heard.

Maria Callas, too. While Nina lived, she never tasted the recognition that was offered to her models. Too wild. Bared. Unstable. Agressive.

Jazz sensation for fifteen years, the South Korean singer Youn Sun Nah, already a gold record in France is known for its exploration of an ever exclusive repertoire: from her original covers of standard rock, folk or song to his compositions with pop accents.

Nguyên Lê is a magician; his art reveals itself not only in his own compositions but also in his celebrations of the music of the past, where his approach to the latter resembles sculptures made of new clay. Remember Purple, his tribute to Jimi Hendrix, or more recently his Songs Of Freedom and its evocations of rock's greatest moments. He's a flamboyant guitarist and, while he shows courteous deference to his source material, he has always expressed the full diversity of an imaginary world engendered by his own history, that of a nomad, self-taught virtuoso: his music feeds on influences embracing all continents, and is painted with colours drawn from jazz, rock, and a kind of world fusion permeated with light.

Korean singer Youn Sun Nah is one of the most brilliantly successful artists of our time in jazz (or more accurately, jazz-related music). In her native country she is a major star. Her love of chanson took her to France, the country where her meteoric rise and her huge success (150,000+ sales of her last two albums) all across Europe took wing. Youn s voice is instantly recognizable, charismatically urgent and infinitely adaptable and with 'She Moves On' this chameleonic and delightful artist has reinvented herself once again.

Gefährlich nah hat sich Helena Goldt in prominente Hände begeben. An ihrer Seite der italienische Pianist und Arrangeur Ludovico Fulci, der sich durch seine langjährige Zusammenarbeit mit Ennio Morricone einen hervorragenden Namen gemacht hat. Ferner der aus Kaliningrad stammende Konstantin Belonogov, der etwa die Hälfte der Arrangements beigesteuert hat. Mit dem Rückenwind des Babylon-Berlin-Gefühls flog Helena Goldt im Sommer nach Rom, um dort ihr Album einzuspielen. Befreit von der Schwere ihrer klassischen Ausbildung ließ sie sich mit innerer Leichtigkeit in die von ihr ausgewählten und teils selbst geschriebenen Lieder fallen.
