This is the third album in a new series of recordings dedicated to the symphonies of Jean Sibelius on the ATMA label. Conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin leads the Metropolitan Orchestra of Montreal in Sibelius’s Symphony No. 3. The Symphony No. 3 in C major, Op. 52, by Jean Sibelius is a symphony in three movements composed in 1907. Coming between the romantic intensity of Sibelius's first two symphonies and the more austere complexity of his later symphonies, it is a good-natured, triumphal, and deceptively simple-sounding piece.

On his debut ATMA recording, Québécois pianist Jean-Philippe Sylvestre revives André Mathieu’s Concerto de Québec alongside Rachmaninov’s colossal Piano Concerto No. 2. This album features the Orchestre Métropolitain under Alain Trudel, and was recorded live during the 2017 Festival Classica.

With the release of a sumptuous set of ten albums, the Orchestre Metropolitain de Montreal directed by Yannick Nezet-Seguin completes a 10-year project to record the complete symphonies of Anton Bruckner. The First and Fifth Symphonies were recorded in 2017, and are being released for the first time as part of this set. Recordings of Bruckner’s symphonies by the OM/YNS team have won unanimous praise from critics worldwide, and have established Yannick Nezet-Seguin as a brilliant conductor of the composer’s works.
