Set in the post-punk era in the North West of England, follows 19-year-old Carty who is good- looking, funny, clever and bored out of his mind. His mother died a year ago and he lives in middle class suburbia with his silently grieving father and feisty young sister, Molly. Carty works as a junior civil servant and spends all of his earnings on gigs, clubs, records and soccer. It's at a match that he meets Elvis, who changes everything. He's part of a gang called The Pack. The Pack is legendary–they dress in a cultish, almost effeminate style that's at odds with the Boneheads and Bootboys they fight against. For as long as he has been going to soccer games, Carty has been fascinated by The Pack. Now Elvis is offering him a way in.

KINGS AND QUEEN is a rich film that tells two stories, converging on the life of two people, Ismaël and Nora, who on first glance seem to have nothing to do with each other. Nora (Emmanuelle Devos), 35 years old, always charming and caring, has a 10-year-old son from her first husband - who committed suicide. She is divorced from the second husband Ismaël (Mathieu Amalric) and about to marry her third. She travels to Grenoble to take care of her dying father and to spend time with her silent son. Meanwhile, Ismaël, a sane but neurotic violinist, is flipping out. Having problems with tax collectors and his sister, he picks up some eccentric habits that land him temporarily in a mental institution, where he provokes the psychiatrist (Catherine Deneuve) and a young girl who is attracted by his behaviour. This is the moment when Nora comes to him with the question to that he should adopt her son Elias. From then on, Desplechin unveils more and more details about his characters Nora and Ismaël, who turn out to be quite different from what one expects.

An entertaining ensemble comedy about the extremes one man goes to circumvent Italian divorce laws, Divorce - Italian Style (Divorzio all'italiana, 1961) was a big hit in Italy as well as on the American art house circuit. Americans were undoubtedly drawn to the scandalous nature and then-steamy sexuality of its script, as well as to its thickly-lacquered Sicilian atmosphere - this is an Italian film full of exaggerated if funny Italian stereotypes. Criterion's supplements work to put the film into sociopolitical context, an important component of the film's and its director's reputation in Italy, but one generally lost on non-Italians.

Kansas farm girl Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland) lives with her Aunt Em (Clara Blandick), Uncle Henry (Charley Grapewin), and three farm hands, Hickory (Jack Haley), Hunk (Ray Bolger), and Zeke (Bert Lahr). After Aldo escapes from the Italian prison he was held in, he meets again with his friends, and plans to retrieve the "gold of Cairo" a large shipment of gold, that waits to be unloaded somewhere in Italy. Aldo devices the perfect plan. Posing as a famous director, he finds the ideal coastal village to unload the shipment, and persuades the entire population that he has chosen their village as the set for his new movie. Everybody, including the idiot chief of the local police is so excited, that they can't even imagine that in fact they are helping the Fox to get the "gold of Cairo"…
