Alan Gilbert ist der neue Chefdirigent des NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchesters. Rechtzeitig zum Beginn seiner ersten Saison im September 2019 hat der amerikanische Dirigent, der von 2009 bis 2017 Chefdirigent der berühmten New Yorker Philharmoniker war, in der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg mit seinem Orchester die erste Aufnahme realisiert: Bruckners berühmte Sinfonie Nr. 7, mit deren Uraufführung in Leipzig im Jahr 1884 dem Komponisten der entscheidende Durchbruch gelang. Vor allem mit dem bekannten Adagio wurde dieses Werk zu Bruckners Lebzeiten ein enormer Erfolg und die Sinfonie zählt nach wie vor zu den wohl bekanntesten und schönsten Werken des sinfonisch-romantischen Kernrepertoire. Sogar Johann Strauss Jr. war erstaunt über die Symphonie: "Bin zutiefst gerührt. Es war die musikalische Erfahrung meines Lebens."

Prosegue il Progetto Viotti, l’integrale delle composizioni per violino e orchestra con Guido Rimonda e la Camerata Ducale. I primi cinque volumi hanno ottenuto entusiastici consensi.
