Swedish AOR/ Melodic Rock group Autumn’s Child is back with the fifth album ‘Tellus Timeline’. This work contains eleven songs in the vein of the previous albums however this time with some songs with a bit harder edge! “I think this is our best album so far”, says singer and founder Mikael Erlandsson. Autumn’s Child have their own unique way to do their music with an intent to have a lot of different styles on each release. “Both me and Mikael are huge Slade and Sweet fans from the 70’s. The track ‘Come and get it’ is pure glam and was a blast to record”, says co-producer Claes Andreasson. Magnus Rosén, former bass player of Hammerfall, again is heard on “Tellus Timeline”.

Between 2006-2018 Erlandsson fronted the Swedish super group Secret Service which he toured with live all over the world. Together with the fantastic guitar player Andy Malecek from the successful German hard rock band Fair Warning he founded the band LAST AUTUMNS DREAM in 2003 which also featured Ian Haugland, Mic Michaeli and John Leven of Europe fame at the time. The self-titled debut album was produced by Claes Andreasson and became a great success.

Last Autumn’s Dream went on releasing another 14 albums with different line ups including great musicians like Jamie Borger (Treat) and Marcel Jacob (Talisman). They toured Japan, England and Germany but decided to take a break in 2018.

Released two years after her romantic and a little bit cheesy album "As canções que você fez pra mim", which covered Roberto Carlos' repertoire, "Ao vivo" sounds so much greater! Here she is much more passionate, powerful and compelling! As I always say, to know deeply Bethânia, it is just essential to listen her live. In "Ao vivo" she sings, among many others, several songs from the Roberto Carlos album, and most of them, especially "Fera ferida", "Costumes" and "Você não sabe" become much more touching, just wonderful. Chico Buarque's "Mar e Lua" is also thrilling, the best cover of this song I've ever heard. Other very nice tunes include Caetano Veloso's samba "Tudo de novo" and the ballads "Lua" and "Todo o sentimento". Highly recommended.

' This is one of the great albums of all time, and is by far the most coherent, interesting and powerful album that James Brown was involved with. With Maceo Parker back on board to work with Fred Wesley and the gang at the height of their creativity, the album comes together as a coherent whole, exploring a number of funk and jazz themes. The album gives extended solo time to the horn players, while the guitar and bass players set up rock-solid foundations. The drumming and percussion are all superb. Even the mellow numbers on this album don't succumb to dullness, kept crisp by the sharpness of the band. The longer songs also challenge funk conventions, particularly since most of them don't even have vocals. This is a crucial album that every funk fan should have.' Rob.Clough@duke.edu
