Originally released in 1987, Running Wild’s ‘Under Jolly Roger’ album is considered a benchmark in heavy metal history and one where a new genre was born – pirate metal. The band undertook a complete overhaul of image and lyrical theme on this record to establish a new genre based on the pirate look and lyrics which captured heavy metal fans imagination everywhere, catapulting the band to the heavy metal hall of fame. Under Jolly Roger went on to sell a quarter of a million copies worldwide.

Running Wild's debut album, 'Gates To Purgatory' was released in 1984 and is eight tracks of raw, primitive and powerful Heavy Metal that is lyrically themed with Satanic iconography, with the band adopting the studs, leather and skulls look in their photos and artwork. Selling over 235,000 copies, 'Gates To Purgatory' catapulted Running Wild to Metal stardom in their native Germany and beyond. The album is fully re-mastered with new booklet, liner notes and interviews with frontman Rock N'Rolf.

Fifth album 'Death Or Glory' was released in 1989 and proved to be their most successful to date with heavy MTV rotation of the track 'Bad To The Bone' which was recorded live in Dusseldorf in front of 9,000 crazy fans. This version has been expanded to include the previously unreleased track 'March On' and 1991s 'Wild Animal' EP. The album is fully re-mastered with new booklet, liner notes and interviews with Rock N'Rolf.

Now Warner Bros. Records can confirm details of a newly mastered and expanded version of the album that will be released on 20th October.
