Omar Sosa would make an excellent global ambassador. He seems to make friends and erase boundary lines wherever he goes. Back in 2012, the Cuban pianist connected with Senegalese kora guru Seckou Keita through a mutual musical associate—drummer Marque Gilmore. Sosa and Keita struck up a quick friendship at that initial meeting, ultimately leading to the creation of this radiant collaboration.

Darlene Yoshimoto was a Japanese singer from Honolulu who was a member of an R&B group with Teddy Tanaka but also released a few songs on her own. After Hawaii's statehood in 1959, she looked forward to being a teen sensation but wanted to show maturity so she made music that represented vocal jazz/pop jazz. She released a full album on the Mahalo company and had intentions of becoming a success not only as a singer but also an actress. This unofficial compilation made sometime in the 2010's opens with two songs she did with Tanaka and ends with two songs from the mid-1960's, which lead to ending her singing career. But the full-length album she did in 1962 is quite good and remains unreleased on CD so this is a vinyl rip.

The Kaiju Project is a Japanese inspired jazz group formed by the half Japanese-Austrian pianist Aseo Friesacher. Their initial idea was to bring old folk songs into a new modern context, but in addition to their compositions, this group has found their very own musical direction: a perfect blend of traditional Japanese music and meditative-creative jazz.

Jazzband Młynarski-Masecki to zespół grający przedwojenny polski jazz.

Although this instrumental fusion band has been around since 1992, they only released their first album eight years later and, my oh my, was it ever worth the wait! Imagine King Crimson, UK, The Mahavisnhu Orchestra and early Jean-Luc Ponty all rolled into one plus some discrete traditional Japanese references. Powered by the violin, KBB's music is dynamic, playful, intense and complex, yet melodic and surprisingly accessible. The band includes an exceptional violinist named Akihisa Tsuboy who also plays cellolin and guitar in addition to composing most of the material. The other members are keyboard player Toshimitsu Takahashi, bassist-guitarist Dani and drummer Shirou Sugano. All four musicians are extremely proficient.
