Ram Oren, Barbara Harshav "Gertruda's Oath: A Child, a Promise, and a Heroic Escape During World War II"
Doubleday Religion | English | August 3, 2010 | ISBN: 0385527195 | 320 pages | azw, epub, lrf, mobi | 2,5 mb
This is a beautiful, sensitively written testimony of an extraordinary woman, Gertruda and her charge, two year old Michael Stolowitzky.
As with most all books written about this savage time in history, the book contains desperation, tragedy and deprivation. Though the author abstains from graphic detail and focuses on the beautiful, eternal bond between nanny and the child she raises as her own.
