The third installment in the series, 100 Greatest Film Themes, Take 3 gathers together a sprawling collection of film music into a six-disc set. Spanning from 1930 to 2012, the set features themes from films ranging from classics like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Apocalypse Now, and Star Wars: A New Hope to more contemporary movies like The Dark Knight Rises, The Hunger Games, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, making for an expansive and eclectic collection. Of note, this collection does contain re-recorded versions of these songs, so anyone looking for original recordings would be better served by going to the original soundtracks.

A documentation of a music happening recorded at Judson Hall, NYC. Sept 8-9, 11-13, 1964 with a stellar line-up that includes James Tenney on piano, David Behrman, Max Neuhaus, Alvin Lucier, Allan Kaprow, Nam June Paik, Allen Gingsberg and Jackson Mac Low. The idea, Allan Kaprow director explained, is “a collage of music and action”. The music was electronic, but the action was clearly electrifying as Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Originale was presented as the top event od Manhattan’s Second Annual Avant-Garde Festival.

Five CD sets containing 100 classic tracks by legendary artists, one of the biggest selling and best remembered musical icons of all time.
