For "Into Forever" Morr Music favourite Jonas Munk (Manual / Limp) and New York concept artist and producer Alexander Perls (Icebreaker International and member of an early incarnation of Piano Magic) join forces. Munk and Perls will whisk you away to a secretive (and cerebral) place where your dreams will be analyzed by higher beings. This is music that will eliminate a lot of your worries and, if only for the length of this album, provide an amiable sense of hope for a better tomorrow. The guitar and electronics on the title track “Into Forever" is a prime example of how these two artists are capable of playing off the other’s emotions…
Down to a trio of Mick Ralphs, Simon Kirke, and Brian Howe, the band that called itself Bad Company relies on studio musicians to fill out the sound and Howe and producer Terry Thomas to write most of the material on this anonymous-sounding fourth album by the second edition of the group. Even those willing to tolerate Ralphs/Kirke/Howe calling themselves "Bad Company" didn't show much interest, so the band fell off from the platinum showing of 1990's Holy Water to much more modest sales this time around, despite the chart singles "How About That" (number 38) and "This Could Be the One" (number 87).
Royal Winter Music by Hans Werner Henze (1926–2012) and Nocturnal after John Dowland by Benjamin Britten (1913–1976) were both inspired by the culture of Elizabethan England in the late 16th and early 17th centuries; more precisely, by the plays of William Shakespeare (1564–1616) and the music of lutenist-composer John Dowland (1563–1626). Henze and Britten both drew on tradition, and they shared a special liking for vocal music. They both composed a lot for the voice, and the guitar works on this release are likewise very lyrical in places.
The cantatas BWV 217-222 are all now regarded as either being of dubious provenance or, in some cases, are definitely identified as being by composers other than J.S. Bach. However, it's worth considering them here because it is still possible that one or two of them may actually be genuine and since there is also a good quality recording available of this set (conducted by Wolfgang Helbich on CPO 999 139-2), so that listeners can come to their own conclusions!
