Rock's longest, strangest trip, the Grateful Dead were the psychedelic era's most beloved musical ambassadors as well as its most enduring survivors, spreading their message of peace, love, and mind expansion across the globe throughout the better part of three decades.

From every standpoint outside the financial, the Who's reunion tour in 1989 was a mistake. Yes, it was a success and millions of fans went home happy, but in retrospect, it's clear that the reunion tour – following just seven years after the "farewell tour" – tarnished the reputation of the Who almost irreparably.

The Magnificent Seven - The Waterboys Fisherman's Blues / Room To Roam Band, 1989-90 is a new 145 track 5CD / 1DVD box set box set and book which tells the story of the seven-piece line up from the Fisherman’s Blues 1989 tour through to the release of the bands 5th album, Room to Roam in 1990. As well as the remastered Room To Roam album, this set contains 80+ previously unreleased tracks over 4CDs packed from demos, unreleased studio tracks, live and informal jams/sessions. The DVD contains two complete 1989 audience films of Glastonbury Festival and Milan, home movies and professional footage at Spiddal House during the making of Room To Roam, plus film shots of The Waterboys visits to Spiddal in 2010 and 2012.

Austin, Texas-based guitarist and singer/songwriter Omar Kent Dykes fits the stereotypical image some have of an American blues musician: he's tall, wears cowboy boots, and has a deep voice with a Southern accent. But although Dykes looks rough and tough, he's actually an incredibly peaceful and intelligent musician, and a veteran at working a crowd in a blues club or a festival. While Dykes has a sizable American audience owing to his albums for Columbia Records, he has spent a good portion of his touring years at festivals and clubs around Europe. Omar Kent Dykes was born in 1950, in McComb, Mississippi, the same town from which Bo Diddley hailed. He first set foot into neighborhood juke joints at age 12 and after he'd been playing guitar for a while, he went back into the juke joints. After graduating from high school, Dykes lived in Hattiesburg and Jackson, Mississippi for a few years before relocating to Austin in 1976. He'd heard the blues scene in Texas was heating up.
