On this album, Howard Hewett has a string of solid ballads and mid-tempo numbers before bowing to some experiemental material. The first release was "Show Me." Hewett delivers a compassionate performance as he craves to make good on the lyric. For two consecuive weeks it held the number two spot on the Billboard R&B charts. On a more mid-tempo note, the second single "If I Could only Have that Day Back" comes across as a pop-oriented number. Nonetheless, the single is inviting; it peaked at #14. The third release "Let Me Show You How to Fall in Love" is groomed around a mid-tempo rhythm; it too has that crossover appeal as well. It peaked at #67 after only eight weeks on the charts.

"Joe Cocker" is the 3rd studio album by Joe Cocker, released in 1973 in Europe as "Something to Say" on Cube Records, and in the USA as Joe Cocker on A&M Records. It contains the hit single "High Time We Went", that was released in the summer of 1971. Joe Cocker signalled Cocker's change of direction into a more jazzy, blues style. The album reached #30 in the US album charts. However, although it received a positive response from the press, it made no impression on the British and European charts.

Baltimoore is a Swedish rock band, led by Swedish singer Björn Lodin. Lodin was originally approached by Elektra Records in 1987 to record a solo album, but Lodin opted to use the moniker Baltimoore rather than his own name. In 1992, Lodin relocated to Åland, Finland, where he met Bulgarian-born guitarist Nikolo Kotzev. They joined forces for two Baltimoore albums, Double Density and Thought for Food. Due to personal and musical differences, Kotzev left the band in 1994 to start his own project, Brazen Abbot.

"Nick Lowe and His Cowboy Outfit" is a 1984 album by British singer-songwriter Nick Lowe. The record marked the official debut of Lowe's new band, the Cowboy Outfit (although all of the band members had appeared on Lowe's previous album, The Abominable Showman). "Nick Lowe and His Cowboy Outfit" incorporates more of a roots rock feel than Lowe's previous albums, including nods to Tex-Mex music ("Half a Boy and Half a Man"), 1950s guitar instrumentals ("Awesome"), and country music (via a cover of Faron Young's "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young"). Other notable tracks include the soul-influenced "L.A.F.S." - which was co-produced and arranged by Elvis Costello (a role reversal of sorts, as Lowe had produced Costello's first five albums).

Kevin Raleigh is an American singer and keyboardist best known for his tenure with the Michael Stanley Band. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on February 27, 1952, Raleigh came to local prominence in 1969 with the band Paper Sun, later known as Freeport Express and Freeport. As Freeport, the band cut an album in Miami for Mainstream Records. In 1973, Raleigh was recruited by former Raspberries members Jim Bonfanti and Dave Smalley to join them in the band Dynamite, who cut an album of Smalley-Raleigh originals which was never released. Raleigh would also be a member of Bonfanti's subsequent band, Pictures, formed in 1977.
