2 Inspirations

Initially created from the ranks of a group of 60s female background session singers that at one time included Dionne Warwick, her sister Dee Dee, adopted sister Judy Clay and Just One Look singer Doris Troy, The Sweet Inspirations became an official Atlantic recording artist after being the label s go-to studio backup vocal group for many of the label s primary artists including Aretha Franklin (with whom they toured in 1967 and 1968), Wilson Pickett, Solomon Burke, The Drifters and Esther Phillips among others.

As well as being the promoter of the piano recital and creator of the symphonic poem, Franz Liszt was also a prodigious innovator in the organ repertory. Olivier Latry - resident organist on the great organ of Notre-Dame-de-Paris for more than thirty-five years - has recorded five of his pieces on the Rieger organ of the Philharmonie de Paris, including the three major published works for the instrument, fleshed out with transcriptions and arrangements.

Cordâme continues the exploration of French composers, after Satie and Debussy, it is Maurice Ravel's turn. Always under a new light, the composer and double bassist Jean Félix Mailloux composed pieces inspired by Ravel's impressionist universe and adapted several of his most famous works. At the crossroads of chamber music and jazz, Cordâme's music creates wonderful sound images representing imaginary landscapes of great beauty.
