Throughout the 1960s there were regional scenes throughout the USA that occasionally lobbed indie recordings onto the charts. But more importantly, the artists in these locales combined national influences with unique local twists to create original sounds. One of the more identifiable such pockets of artistry was barrio of mid-60s East Los Angeles. The national hits included Cannibal & The Headhunters reworking of Chris Kenner's "Land of 1000 Dances" (later reworked to even greater chart success by Wilson Pickett) and the garage-rock classic "Farmer John" by the Premiers, but the non-charting local radio spins and club favorites were just as good.

Duchess of Coolsville is Rhino's three-CD career retrospective of the work of singer and songwriter Rickie Lee Jones, an artist who changed the face of pop in the 1970s in her own way beginning with her surprise hit "Chuck E's in Love." Since that time she has continued on a highly personal, often idiosyncratic path; one that does not always give the marketplace its due…

A Million In Prizes will be a double album chronicling Iggy's career from the first Stooges album in 1969 to the present day. It is the first time that Iggy's career has been compiled so comprehensively and the track listing is phenomenal; CD1 takes in the three Stooges albums; The Stooges, Fun House and Raw Power plus Kill City the album Iggy made with James Williamson in 1975, plus the classic early solo albums, Lust for Life and The Idiot. CD2 takes us up to the present day with all killers and no fillers and the added bonus of two duets - the wondrous 'Well Did You Evah' with Debbie Harry from the Red Hot and Blue charity album and 'Candy' with Kate Pierson from the B52's. This 2 CD collection goes deeper than the Virgin single disc release of Rude And Nude in 1996. Liner notes offer a career retrospective and are highlighted with quotes from some of music's most influential artists, such as David Bowie, Debbie Harry, Henry Rollins, Chrissy Hynde and many more.

Family is an English rock band, active from late 1966 to October 1973, and again since 2013 for a series of live shows. Their style has been characterised as progressive rock, as their sound often explored other genres, incorporating elements of styles such as folk, psychedelia, acid rock, jazz fusion, and rock and roll. The band achieved recognition in the United Kingdom through their albums, club and concert tours, and appearances at festivals. The band's rotating membership throughout its relatively short existence led to a diversity in sound throughout their different albums. Family are also often seen as an unjustly forgotten act, when compared with other bands from the same period and have been described as an "odd band loved by a small but rabid group of fans". Although most of their recordings were issued in the US, the band never achieved any appreciable success there.

Telluric Chaos is a live album by the reunited Iggy Pop & The Stooges. The album chronicles the closing date of the band's first ever Japanese tour, which took place on March 22, 2004, at the Shibuya AX in Tokyo. The album documents a typical reunited Stooges set, primarily drawn from the band's first two albums (including all of Fun House) with no material from the James Williamson era (Raw Power, Kill City). The album/live set also includes some of the first live performances of three of the four Stooges reunion tracks from Iggy Pop's 2003 solo album Skull Ring plus one brand new song, "My Idea Of Fun" (a finalized version appears on their 2007 studio album The Weirdness).

William John Evans (August 16, 1929 – September 15, 1980) was an American jazz pianist and composer who mostly played in trios. His use of impressionist harmony, inventive interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, block chords, and trademark rhythmically independent, "singing" melodic lines continue to influence jazz pianists today.

Most casual onlookers don't remember it today, but there was a time when Island Records was well known as the home of numerous varieties of music beyond classic reggae and the 1980s work of U2. In fact, from 1967 until the early/mid-'70s, Island was one of the major outlets for progressive and art rock bands in England. The label didn't have much of a presence in the United States until the second half of the 1970s, and many of the groups that it had under contract only released their work through Island in England, with major acts such as Jethro Tull, King Crimson, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer having separate contractual relationships with Warner/Reprise and Atlantic in the United States.
