This powerful four disc anthology is a wonderful illustration of the genius that was the late, great Frank Zappa in performance and broadcasting live to air. Zappa always defies categorisation. He blended humor, satire, virtuoso guitar, challenging lyrics, bawdy tales, brilliant compositions, and inspired improvisation and somehow managed to make those diverse elements work together in a unique, musical form which defies categorisation, and is known to posterity by the term "Zappa".

Cœur de Pirate is the solo project of award-winning singer-songwriter and pianist Béatrice Martin. Since the age of 3, Martin has been playing the piano and expressing herself through songs and music. After spending several years singing and playing keyboards in Montreal indie bands, Martin decided to go solo and released her eponymously titled debut album in September 2008, to immediate national and international acclaim. Her popularity on YouTube and MySpace helped her garner millions of new fans. Cœur de Pirate has now sold more than one million albums worldwide and counting.

This 50+ minute recording was recorded in San Francisco, California on January 20, 1950 by the Standard Oil Company for their radio show, “Musical Map of America.” The recording was episode 19, “Musical Story of New Orleans,” and featured Armstrong, Jack Teagarden and Earl Hines. For reasons not known, the broadcast was never made and Louis was personally given the acetate discs of the sessions.

Bob Dylan converted to Christianity in 1979. Like many who have been born again, Dylan spoke and sang solely of his faith for a brief period – roughly half a year, beginning in November of 1979 and ending in May of 1980. Facing a fan base who were generally furious at his newfound religion, Dylan started to thread some oldies into his set lists but he didn't leave gospel behind until he released Infidels in 1983.

For the first time since its creation, George V Records has teamed up with another Parisian label. And not just any, as we are talking about French Kitchen, the creator of the famous "Cocobeach", "Aum" and "Story" parties. In this project, Sam Popat (resident DJ of the Buddha-Bar Paris) slums on a double album with Sucré Salé (Cocobeach), Animal & Me (Story) and Popof, a legend of Electronic music (Founder of the Heretik sound system). On the first CD, pour only remixes from the Buddha-Bar catalog, prepared by Popof and his associates. Cheap Trick attempted to ride the new wave on 1982’s One on One, but wound up with a wipe-out, so they recovered by hiring Todd Rundgren, one of the few ‘70s album-rockers who proved that he knew how to negotiate the treacherous waters of the early ‘80s, for 1983’s Next Position Please. Rundgren wielded a heavy hand during his production, pushing Cheap Trick toward making a record that could easily be mistaken for a Utopia record – so much so, the Todd composition, “Heaven’s Falling,” slips onto the second side without calling attention to itself. The bright surfaces with the guitars and keyboards melding so tightly with the vocal harmonies they’re inseparable, produce a sound that is uncannily reminiscent of Oops!

Sia Kate Isobelle Furler is an Australian singer, songwriter, record producer and music video director. She started her career as a singer in the acid jazz band Crisp in the mid-1990s in Adelaide. In 1997, when Crisp disbanded, she released her debut studio album titled OnlySee in Australia, but it did not sell well. She moved to London, England, and provided lead vocals for the British duo Zero 7.
