We at AVID have a hard time imagining a guy the size of Bo Diddley playing the violin? Anyway, he was soon to discover the driving rhythm of the guitar which immediately became his instrument of choice. All you really need to do to appreciate the incredible sound of Bo Diddley is pop this CD into your car stereo and drive down the open road with the volume at full tilt! That's it! You will then understand how this guy became such an influence on many of the great rock stars of the 1960s and 1970s and beyond, and we're talking Beatles, Stones, Clapton, Page and Plant, Dylan, Petty and all points north south east and west.

ECM continues the series of Keith Jarrett's live archival recordings with La Fenice. The recital occurred in 2006 at the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice, some four years after the pianist had resumed performing solo following his recovery from a long illness. Given that these outings are all spontaneously improvised, it stands to reason that no two are alike, from the spacious and lyrical Koln Concert from 1975 through the 1995's transcendent La Scala, through 2017's kaleidoscopic four-disc release of A Multitude of Angels, captured in four cities on a tour of Italy some 20 months after La Scala. Interestingly, the La Fenice show took place some ten months after Jarrett's triumphant July 2005 Carnegie Hall Concert.

Spen began his career at the age of 13, producing mix shows for WEBB AM in Baltimore. Even at that young age, Spen founded one of the area's first hip hop production groups, the Numarx. In 1986 they wrote and recorded a track called “Girl You Know It's True”, which was later covered and made famous by Milli Vanilli. Spen’s radio career continued to grow and lead him to a radio career working at various FM radio stations in the Baltimore and Washington areas. In 1992, Spen developed a mixshow on 95.9 FM in Baltimore called the “Flashback Saturday Night Dance Party”. Though Spen eventually moved on from radio, the show is still a hit today, with Spen’s close friend KW Griff at the helm. Spen's production talents lead him to Basement Boys Records in 1989.
