Rick Wakeman And The English Rock Ensemble ‎- No Earthly Connection

Label: A&M Records/SP 4583 | Released: 1976 | Genre: Symphonic-Rock

Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection
This is a VERY underrated album from Rick Wakeman, the Yes' keyboardist. Wakeman here is supported by the excellent English Rock Ensemble, made of Tony Fernandez on drums, Ashley Holt on lead vocals and some brass instruments musicians, among others.

Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC + cue | 24bit/48kHz | 500mb
Label: Hexagone/883007 | Released: 1976 | Genre: Progressive-Folk

Essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock music
Malicorne is my favourite folk collective and Almanach is their best album. It is a concept album from 1976 where each of the 12 songs represents a month of the year. Hence 'Almanach' which means calendar in English. Track 13 was not on the original album.

There is something about the music on Malicorne's album `Le Bestiaire' (roughly translated to `The Animals') that transports me to another space and time.

The title Heavy Metal is somewhat misleading. Sure, this terrific soundtrack from the 1981 animated cult favorite features heavy metal and hard rock numbers.

Though this fitfully inspired yet always intelligently musical record is an electric album, McLaughlin is more often heard on acoustic guitar in something resembling his electric manner, along with more pronounced classical and flamenco influences.
