Bombay Dub Orchestra are not from Bombay, nor are they really a dub act, either, or even an actual orchestra, but the name has been used for the electro-Indian, ambient, chill-out soundscapes and melodies created by British composers and producers Garry Hughes and Andrew T. Mackay, along with mixing engineer Damon Sood. Built around electro beats and Indian instruments, then layered with sweetly flowing string orchestration, the team produces well-crafted and arranged chill-out melodies that feel like they've wandered in from the classical score of a Bollywood movie, only by way of Jamaica; a sort of sunny version of late-night zone-out-and-float-downstream music…

2009 two CD set. Pioneered by the legendary King Tubby in the early 1970s, Dub has proved one of the most enduring and most influential styles to emanate from Jamaica's golden shores. This set highlights some of the best in Dub sounds from the '70s and early '80s, created by many of it's esteemed practitioners. Featuring the likes of Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Niney The Observer, King Tubby and Prince Jammy, this is a fantastic introduction to a much-loved musical phenomenon.

Asian Dub Foundation are a genre unto themselves. Their unique combination of tough jungle rhythms, dub bass lines and wild guitar overlaid by references to their South Asian roots and militant high-speed rap has established them as one of the best live bands in the world. During their long and productive career Asian Dub Foundation have shared the stage with the likes of Rage Against The Machine, the Beastie Boys and Primal Scream also collaborating on record with the likes of Radiohead, Sinead O’ Connor, Iggy Popand Chuck D.
