In Criterion’s first volume of the anthology By Brakhage, we brought twenty-six astonishing works by the avant-garde film pioneer Stan Brakhage to home video for the first time. Now, in this second installment, we are proud to present thirty more of Brakhage’s visionary creations, from 1950s films to his final work, from 2003, curated by his wife, Marilyn Brakhage. Highlights of this collection include the war meditation 23rd Psalm Branch; hand-painted films from Persian Series; The Wonder Ring, made for a commission by Joseph Cornell; the autobiographical Scenes from Under Childhood, Section One; and the found-footage film Murder Psalm.

Nicolas Cage plays private investigator Tom Welles, who is contacted by Daniel Longdale (Anthony Heald), the attorney of wealthy widow Mrs. Christian (Myra Carter), whose husband has recently died. While going through the contents of her husband's safe, she and Longdale found an 8 mm film depicting what appears to be the brutal murder of a teenage girl by a hulking man in a mask. Through the emotion shown it seems the film is real, but Mrs. Christian wants him to find out for certain.

Tom Welles est un "privé" dont le quotidien est loin d'être aussi palpitant que celui des détectives de romans policiers. A Harrisburg, en Pennsylvanie, il mène une vie banale avec son épouse Amy et sa petite fille, Cindy. Tom rêve cependant de l'affaire exceptionnelle qui fera de lui un grand parmi les grands. En attendant, il s'occupe de petites histoires de dettes impayées et d'adultères. Le grand frisson semble bien loin… Lorsqu'une veuve lui demande d'enquêter sur le film 8 mm qu'elle a découvert dans le coffre de son défunt mari, Tom bascule dans un univers dont il ne soupçonnait pas l'existence… Le viol et le meurtre de la jeune inconnue filmés sur la bobine vont le précipiter dans un jeu de piste aussi étrange que risqué.

Look at What the Light Did Now (2010) Movies

On September 22, 2010, Feist announced through her website the release of a documentary film about the creative process of making of The Reminder, called Look at What the Light Did Now. It was directed by Canadian film director Anthony Seck and was shot on Super 8 mm film. The film was released on DVD in December 2010, and a limited series of screenings were conducted including a Toronto screening at the Royal Ontario Museum, which featured a post-film interview of Feist by George Stroumboulopoulos.

Sgt. Yasuo Fujii is a Shell-Shocked War Cameraman, running through the Malaysian jungle for his life armed only with an 8mm camera. He encounters the injured remnants of the scattered Japanese 6th Army, and together they try to rejoin their division in Kuala Lumpur. Something is amiss: their maps are wrong, their radio malfunctions, and Fujii starts seeing mysterious figures through his camera's viewfinder, only to have them vanish when pursued. With survival at stake and time running out, they fight the vicious maze-life jungle and its dark secret.
