Aïcha

Aicha, a high-school student, is a passionate kung fu fighter. Her Turkish parents expect her to get good grades so she can get into medical school, like her brother Ali. But school doesn't inspire her. Defying her family, Aicha starts secretly training at a professional, co-ed kung fu club. A boy, Emil, helps Aicha train for the club championship and they fall in love. But the rules of life are not as simple as the rules of kung fu, and Aicha is forced to decide who she is and what she wants.

Sahra is a studio album from Algerian raï artist Khaled, released in 1996. It was the artist's biggest production to date, being co-produced by Philippe Eidel, Don Was, Jean-Jacques Goldman and Clive Hunt, and including performances by many other singers from around the world. It features what is perhaps Khaled's most popular song, "Aïcha". Most tracks are sung in Arabic, with a notable dosage of French. "Ki Kounti" is partially sung in Spanish as it features Mexican Rock vocalist Saúl Hernández from the reputable band Caifanes. The title track is named after Khaled's first daughter, Sarah, to whom the album is dedicated along with her mother, Samira.

Comme l’enfer, l’amour est pavé de bonnes intentions. Et au pire, on se mariera, c’est l’histoire d’Aïcha, de ceux qu’elle aime, de ceux qui l’aiment, de cet amour qui dévore et qui détruit. C’est qu’Aïcha n’est pas troublée pour rien. Son beau-père algérien, qu’elle adorait, l’aimait d’un peu trop près, et elle ne pardonne pas à sa mère de l’avoir jeté à la porte….
