In what will be 25 years since the release of Enchant's debut album "A Blueprint of the World", the San Francisco-formed progressive rock group will celebrate with a special limited 10 CD boxset compiling all of their studio albums, from the aforementioned debut, right up to 2014's "The Great Divide". Enchant are renowned for their catchy melodies, driven by Ted Leonard's excellent vocals. The build-up of their compositions brings to mind acts such as Rush, Dream Theater and Kansas among others, but in their long career they have clearly developed their own sound.
For more than 45 years, the music of Yes has been thrilling music lovers throughout the world. Not only did this band create exciting new albums of incredible songs, it virtually invented an entirely new style of music… orchestral, symphonic, sometimes folk-influenced rock with lyrical content and social conscience. The band, Yes, and its musicians (both current and former) are still creating music today and have spawned new generations of musicians who have waited for an opportunity to thank their musical "fathers" for the creative energy that Yes inspires. Now, "Tales From Yesterday… A View From The South Side of The Sky" gives the world an opportunity to hear past and current members of Yes as well as their musical offspring (both figurative and literal) re-create Yes material from new perspectives and with wisdom that only the passing of time allows.

All the tribute albums in the Magna Carta catalog tread dangerous ground. How can they give the artists room to stretch and still maintain enough of the original spirit to capture the art-rock audience that knows these songs by heart? "Supper's Ready" manages to walk that fine line for the most part, with strong contributions by Annie Haslam, Kevin Gilbert (a trombone solo on "Back in NYC" works impossibly well) and Magna Carta label workhorses Robert Berry, Trent Gardner and Magellan, and Shadow Gallery. On the down side, John Goodsall, guitarist of Phil Collins' jazz offshoot, Brand X, is wasted on "Carpet Crawlers." Matching him with vocalist Michael Zentner is a disservice.
Every band which appears on "The Moon Revisited" was profoundly influenced by Pink Floyd and wanted to be a part of this tribute. Each of the bands showcased on this album worked separately, yet each strived to maintain the thread that would connect all the pieces of this high-concept album. To put together a record such as this was a major effort musically and logistically but all parties involved felt that "tribute" was the motivating force. The album's final cut, "Eclipse", features the vocalists from each of the groups that appear on this album in the finale of the great piece of rock history. Every word that is sung is infused with the emotion of the original version as well as an extra added element of respect for the originators.
Saint-Germain-des-Prés Café is a series of nu-jazz compilations distributed by Wagram Music. Its name evokes the cafés of the area in Paris associated with the existentialism movement.
The premier purveyors of Ibiza comedown have selected two dozen tracks of laid-back, cozily experimental music to help celebrate their 20th anniversary, and while it at times feels ungainly, it never seems too scripted. The first disc has Amalagation of Soundz creating a rustic drum'n'bass mantra ("Enchant Me"), Moodrama mixing tribal beats with flitters of jazz (the appropriately titled "Jazz Tip"), and even Deep & Wide constructing a gorgeously subtle native twinkle along the lines of Dario G's "Voices." The other disc tends to go for the more celestial (Jean Michel Jarre, Jon & Vangelis) or the post-sunset reawakening (Foundland, Christian Alvad), but begins to sag with the drugged-out self-importance of a born-again hippy. Luckily, with so many tracks on offer, it's easy to sift out the treasures. This is a fine, calming collection of indigenous, open-door attitude.
Enchant, this time changed: the former drummer Paul Craddick along with three further band associates as well as various guest musicians have created an album that is filled with the typical Enchant prog sound that is laden with groovy and alternative rock elements.
Solo project from 1999 of the former Enchant drummer Paul Craddick together with Ted Leonard (Enchant, Thought Chamber), Michael Benignus Geimer (Enchant) and Douglas A. Ott (Enchant).
41Point9 falls somewhere on the pop side of the prog world and features performances by Nick D'Virgilio of Spock's Beard, Dave Weckl of Chick Corea fame, Brian Cline, original singer/bassist with Enchant along with Bob Madsen, recording bassist/engineer/producer for Enchant and named Kenny Steel. With a tip of the hat to bands like Marillion, Enchant, Spocks Beard, Porcupine Tree, Midge Ure and Level 42, the songs exhibit high levels of musicianship, but more importantly, tell stories and take the listener on a journey. There's lots of harmonies, interesting rhythms, and insightful lyrics.
Trio Corrente is one of the most successful groups of instrumental music in their country, as 2014 Grammy Award and Latin Grammy Award winners in the Best Latin Jazz Album category. Paulo Paulelli (bass), Edu Ribeiro (drums) and Fabio Torres (piano) are among the greatest Brazilian musicians of their generation. Abeat is proud to publish their sixth Cd in 18 years of career that condenses all their evolved and very modern personal language where the Afro-American idiom is grafted into the deep roots of the rich Brazilian musical tradition. This CD has managed to capture the deep connection and the lively interaction between the musicians, the lyricism, the virtuosity, the accuracy and the lightness that always enchant the audience in their concerts.
