A Ha

So much excitement and anticipation brewed among fans and critics alike soon after the members of A-ha, whom called it a day (or two) in 2010, announced almost five years later that they would reunite albeit only for one album and a world tour. True to their words, A-ha eventually unleashed their most-awaited new album on September 4th. Entitled "Cast in Steel", it is the tenth studio full-length of the Norwegian trio.
"Cast in Steel" is yet another well-planned, well-written, and well-arranged masterpiece. It is steeped in melancholic poetry; cast in Pop, New Wave, and Classical sensibilities; and painted with catchy choruses and memorable melodies…

Released not long after A-Ha’s twentieth anniversary, Singles 1984-2004 rounds up 19 of the group’s A-sides, beginning with 1985’s international number one hit single “Take on Me” and concluding with 2002’s “Lifelines.” In the U.S., A-Ha are often seen as the quintessential MTV-driven new wave one-hit wonder - the pen-and-ink animation of “Take on Me” defining an era - but the group had a long, fruitful career as hitmakers in Europe, and this collection presents an excellent overview of that career, containing such continental smashes as “The Sun Always Shines on TV,” “Hunting High and Low,” “I’ve Been Losing You,” “Cry Wolf,” “The Living Daylights,” “Stay on These Roads,” “Crying in the Rain,” “Summer Moved On,” and “Forever Not Yours.” It may not be enough to win over skeptics but it’s more than enough to prove that A-Ha were not one-hit wonders, and it will surely satisfy anybody who is wanting a solid collection of their biggest hit singles.

Japanese-only two disc (CD + DVD) set. 2020 collection celebrating the 35th Anniversary of a-ha's debut in Japan. This release includes the biggest '80s hit, "Take on Me". Disc one is a collection of the singles released in Japan during the Warner era, including 19 songs in order of release. The bonus DVD is a music video collection (nine songs have never been released on DVD in Japan), including the early version of "Take on Me". 10 of the 17 songs have not been included in the video work, The Hits of a-ha in 1991.

Memorial Beach is the fifth album by the Norwegian band A-ha, released in 1993. The album was recorded primarily at Prince's Paisley Park studios outside Minneapolis in the U.S. Memorial Beach featured three UK Top 50 singles for the band, "Move to Memphis" (released as a single in 1991, almost two years before the album), "Dark is the Night" and "Angel in the Snow". While the album did not chart on the U.S. Billboard 200 and would be the band's last to be released there, the single "Dark Is the Night" peaked at #11 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, their last U.S. charting to date. Q magazine listed the album as one of the 50 best albums of 1993: "If ever a band deserved reappraisal on the back of an album then it was a-ha!"
