Peter Doherty and Frédéric Lo release their new album The Fantasy Life of Poetry and Crime through Strap Originals. The Fantasy Life of Poetry and Crime is another piece de resistance from this constantly evolving and challenging artist, showcasing Peter’s proudly European poetry and comment on la bete humaine married to Frederick’s delicious francophone musical arrangements.

Appearing with leading orchestras and conductors around the world, Evelyn Glennie has also collaborated with musicians as diverse as Emmanuel Ax, the King’s Singers and Bjork. On the present disc, she appears with the Taipei Chinese Orchestra to perform original compositions and arrangements for percussion and Chinese orchestra.

New Jersey rockers Fandango were dogged by misfortune and misadventure throughout their inglorious career, and are now best remembered for launching the career of well-traveled vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, later of Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen, Deep Purple, and other A-line bands. Turner had already been involved in a few amateur groups in the early '70s, but it was with the formation of Fandango in 1975 that he would officially go pro, joining guitarist Rick Blakemore (no relation, huge coincidence), keyboard player Denny LaRue, bassist Bob Danyls, and drummer Abe Speller in the lineup that finally graduated from countless club gigs to a record contract with RCA.

An inexhaustible source of inspiration, birdsong has lent colours and sound to all ages. Exploring the sonic palette, whether glittering or woody, of their instruments, Valentine and Gabriel Michaud take us deep into a lush jungle of chiseled melodies and shimmering harmonies. Famous or exotic birds, baroque or electronic, jazzy or contemporary, all together they spread their wings in a hymn to freedom and musical diversity.
