Lemon's 2013 two-fer combines the original Australian versions of two early albums by Little River Band: 1976's "After Hours" and 1977's "Diamantina Cocktail". These are respectively their 2nd and 3rd records, and on "After Hours", it's possible to hear how tentative Little River Band are. They flit between pub-friendly country-rock and sentimental folk, dabble in jazzy runs as they ramp up rock & roll rhythms ("Take Me Home"), pound home a horn-fueled pop/rocker in the vein of Chicago ("Everyday of My Life"), even stretch out into something that feels like inadvertent proto-prog ("Another Runaway," whose chorus uncannily mirrors that of Pink Floyd's later "Comfortably Numb"). Any hint of the well-known soft rock slickness that is missing on "After Hours" can be heard on "Diamantina Cocktail", which opens with their first big hit "Help Is on Its Way" and also includes "Happy Anniversary," two signs that they've moved toward their shiny signature.

For a long time, the fact that three of J.S. Bach’s harpsichord concertos are arrangements of earlier violin concertos led scholars to suspect that the remaining concertos were also adaptations of lost works for strings or winds, prompting several musicologists to attempt reconstructions. However, recent research has shown that they are more likely arrangements of earlier keyboard works. But what would Bach have done if he had to perform one of these pieces again and wished to showcase a different solo instrument? Ensemble Odyssee explores this question with three brand-new arrangements, presented alongside Bach’s own arrangement of his Fourth Brandenburg Concerto, each piece showcasing the virtuosity of the ensemble’s four core members.

Ten Years After is the debut album by the English blues rock band Ten Years After. It features "Spoonful", a Howlin' Wolf song (written for him by Willie Dixon) that the British blues rock group Cream covered as well (on their albums Fresh Cream and Wheels of Fire). The album is also low on original material in comparison to the band's later works which were, in most cases, entirely composed of Alvin Lee's songs. It's one of the first blues rock albums released by the British artists.

The third and final record by the progressive rock trio U.K. was recorded during a 1979 concert in Japan, although it was not released until after the group disbanded; by this time the group featured bassist and lead vocalist John Wetton with ex-Zappa sidemen Eddie Jobson (keyboards and electric violin) and drummer Terry Bozzio. "Night After Night" serves a driving opener, followed by "Rendezvous 6:02," primarily a feature for Jobson's keyboard wizardry. The instrumental "Alaska" is a bit bombastic on the scale of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, though the hard-rocking "In the Dead of Night" makes up for it. Jobson switches to violin for the high-energy closer, "Caesar's Palace Blues" (which is not actually a blues). This is easily the best of U.K.'s rather small discography…

Polish outfit After… was formed in June 2002, as a more or less direct continuation of the recently disbanded band Awake. The initial members were Czarek Bregier (guitars) and Wojtek Tyminski (guitars), joined at the onset by Sylwia Wojciechowska (vocals), Mariusz Ziolkowski (bass) and Radek Wieckowski (drums). Tomek Wisniewski (keyboards) hooked up with the band shortly after, and with a great deal of enthusiasm they started rehearsing and producing material. The band started recording material the same year, but this turned out to be a slow process…

The cover of Ten Years After's 1973 album Recorded Live depicts a giant reel-to-reel recorder, which certainly captures the era when this double-LP set was recorded. Approaching the end of their run – only one more album would come, 1974's Positive Vibrations – Ten Years After were deep into the thick of '70s arena rock, so everything they played on-stage wound up stretching well beyond the five-minute mark, sometimes reaching upward of 11 minutes…
