"Le Prix du danger" est un jeu télévisé, où un candidat, pour gagner, doit échapper à des tueurs. François Jacquemard, un chômeur, est sélectionné, et s'aperçoit bien vite que le jeu est truqué. Il se rebelle, abat les tueurs et dénonce la supercherie en direct. Les producteurs le font passer pour fou. Il est interné tandis qu'une émission encore plus violente est programmée.

(The film differed significantly from the novel (The Running Man from Stephen KING), but it's a similar theme, about a TV show where participants must escape killers live on TV.)

A popular French comic strip of the 1950s becomes a candy-colored feature film in this race-car adventure. The Leaders and the Vaillants are rival families of Formula One car drivers, the former group devious and cutthroat, the latter benevolent and amiable. But when the hallowed Le Mans 24-hour race is at hand, both clans find that they'll resort to anything to win. With many of its scenes filmed at the real Le Mans race in the summer of 2002, Michel Vaillant was co-produced by international crossover success Luc Besson.

Le Capitol, siège du Congrès américain, est pris pour cible par des terroristes internationaux, qui espèrent, par un odieux chantage à la bombe, obtenir dix millions de dollars. Les sénateurs succombent un à un à la suite de violentes explosions. Danny O'Neill, spécialiste en explosifs est chargé par le FBI de traquer les criminels et de protéger le sénateur de Washington, qui s'avére être aussi l'amant de sa femme ….

When a Senator is killed in an explosion, the FBI investigates. The agent in charge is Danny O'Neill, who is separated from his wife and behaving very erratic. Initially the investigation doesn't reveal what kind of explosive or even what was used to detonate it. Eventually it is learned that terrorists have developed an "invisible" liquid explosive which is activated within the human body. And it doesn't help that they have to report to Senator Traveres, the man whom O'Neill's wife is having an affair with and whom Danny also assaulted. Later, another senator is killed while riding in a limosuine, and limo driven by one of the conspirators. This villain is subsequently struck by a moving car, and is taken into custody, and brought into court. Since this villain is now considered a risk by his peers, the judge in the case is slipped the potion, and she spontaneously explodes, killing the arraigned villain in the process. It is at this time that O-Neill discovers the cause of the explosions, the chemically enhanced water in the judges pitcher.
