"Faithful" is the title of Dusty Springfield's planned 3rd album for Atlantic Records, and 7th recorded studio album overall, recorded in the first half of 1971. Two singles from the planned album, "I Believe In You" (b/w "Someone Who Cares"), and "Haunted" (b/w "Nothing Is Forever", a track not intended for the album) were released in the U.S. in the fall of 1971, but failed to chart nationally. Due to poor response from the two singles, and a rumoured falling out with Atlantic executives, Springfield's contract with the company was not renewed, and the planned album was shelved and never given a catalogue number or title.

In the teenage wastelands of grey early Seventies Britain, where the musical landscape was dominated by introspective singer-songwriters and dour rock bands, the emergence of the outrageous, androgynous, peacock-plumaged Glam Rock scene provided a vital spark in the dark. Sadly the genre was quickly hijacked by the backroom hustlers of the British music industry and their mutton-dressed-as-glam pop idol marionettes. However, Oh! You Pretty Things ignores such lightweight fripperies to concentrate on the real deal. We focus on the twin central strands of Glam Rock: the cerebral and the visceral, with the artier, experimental element of the scene joined by the Ladbroke Grove street rockers and the Steve Marriott-channelling chirpy Cockney geezer street urchins, many of whom had been to drama school and knew how to strike a pose. We examine the trash-aesthetic fault line that joined the seedy, no-longer-swinging London of the early Seventies with New York’s sleazy demi-monde and the incorrigible hucksters of Hollywood. The latter were led by Kim Fowley, ably assisted by LA scenester Rodney Bingenheimer, who opened Rodney’s English Disco (allegedly at Bowie’s suggestion), where the underage groupies, teenage runaways and glitter queens of Sunset Strip hung out with visiting British rock royalty and the likes of Alice Cooper and a wasted Iggy Pop.

'Cross Can's rhythm section with Roland Kirk, Motown and the Third Stream and you'll get somewhere near where The NJE are coming from…' Like most band names, it came about by accident trying to explain the sound of three musicians playing horn-led instrumentals from the rock/pop side of the tracks, the closest description was a 'near-jazz experience'. Swiftly abbreviated to The NJE, this 'Near Jazz Experience' was formed by multi-instrumentalist Terry Edwards, bassist Mark Bedford and drummer Simon Charterton in the spring of 2010.

The time is right for CBP to finally release a recording made up of cover versions. "Horrific Honorifics" is an unashamed celebration of songs that have either influenced Justin Greaves and CBP in music and life, or have been on the “cover song short list” for quite some time, waiting to be recorded once the opportunity arose.
Throughout the history of the band there have always been the occasional cover songs, but mostly consigned to the extra-or-hidden-track department, although a couple of songs made it onto albums such as “Of A Lifetime” on I,Vigilante, and most recently “Turn To Stone” on the critically acclaimed album Bronze, which were instant hits and popular live songs. Now it’s time to dedicate a whole release to this CBP tradition…

British Heavy Metal legends, Saxon, return with a second ‘deep dish’ serving of the inspirations which have fed their immensely successful 40+ year career. Whether unveiling a sensational take on The Sensational Alex Harvey Band’s “The Faith Healer” (in the process showing the direct lineage from teenage turntables to international glory), getting feral with The Animal’s “We’ve Gotta Get Out Of This Place”, letting loose a high-octane take on Alice Cooper’s “From The Inside”, or laying down a ferocious tribute to KISS’ “Detroit Rock City”, More Inspirations is a joyous trip into the sounds which galvanized the Barnsley boys and continue to get spun on home stereos and tour buses.
