The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) is recognised as being the UK’s most in-demand orchestra, an accolade that would have pleased Sir Thomas Beecham, who founded the RPO in 1946. Witches' Brew is a 2008 compilation combining thet works of The New Symphony Orchestra Of London and The Orchestra Of The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, both conducted by Sir Alexander Gibson. Half of this disc was originally released in 1959 while the remainder was released in 1964. This was released by Decca via Universal Music Australia.

First launched by EMI UK in 1988, The Classic Experience took the Britain by storm, riding high in the UK charts alongside the top rock and pop albums of the day. The recently launched CD format was just beginning to take-off and there was a new hunger for discovery of great classical music amongst the mass market.
