Algebra And Number Theory

This study demonstrates the key manipulations surrounding Brauer groups, graded rings, group representations, ideal classes of number fields, p-adic differential equations, and rationality problems of invariant fields - displaying a command of the most advanced methods in algebra.

In this volume one finds basic techniques from algebra and number theory (e.g. congruences, unique factorization domains, finite fields, quadratic residues, primality tests, continued fractions, etc.) which in recent years have proven to be extremely useful for applications to cryptography and coding theory.

This book presents state-of-the-art research and survey articles that highlight work done within the Priority Program SPP 1489 “Algorithmic and Experimental Methods in Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory”, which was established and generously supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) from 2010 to 2016.
