The first in a series of various artist compilations, alongside more in-depth artist focused releases, Virtual Dreams will delve into music produced during the 1990’s that redefined the boundaries of ‘Ambient’. This was music that explored the possibilities of Ambient within a new setting, created often by House and Techno producers for a world beyond dance floors but made very much with the pre-clubbing and post-clubbing listener in mind.

The Ambient Visitor (Brin Coleman) is a prolific ambient, shoegaze musician and producer from Manchester, UK. An introduction, to friends old and new, to the music of The Ambient Visitor, a collection of peaceful generative ambient music. This compilation includes a taste of each album self-released under this project.

It is a compilation that includes tracks by Steve Roach, Hiroki Okano, Mychael Danna & Tim Clement, Stephen Bacchus, Robert Scott Thompson, Jeff Pearce, Frank Quasar, David Knight, Peter Ball, and Paul Tedischini. The album is a tour de force, with at least half of the artists being from Canada's Oasis/ Mirage label. ‘Gaia: Selected Ambient & Downtempo Works (1996-2003)’ is a new in-depth compilation of works by Japanese musician Dream Dolphin. Co-compiled by long-time friend of the label Eiji Taniguchi, it draws from a vast discography of music oscillating between IDM, Pop and Ambient. First appearing on Eiji’s compilation ’Heisei No Oto - Japanese Left-field Pop From The CD Age (1989-1996)’, this selection of rediscoveries, further shines a light on the singular musician known as Dream Dolphin and her place in Japan’s rich electronic music legacy.

Lenny Ibizarre is a Danish producer and musician from Copenhagen. He broke into Ibiza's music scene in 1997 with his debut album The Ambient Collection: "An amalgamation of slow-burning funked-up retro-grooves clad in subliminal soundscapes of tender melancholy and inner peace", as the press put it at the time. The album received great reviews from both the critics and chill-out DJs such as Jose Padilla from Cafe Del Mar with whom Lenny remixed and co-produced for a period of time. Within a year Lenny was remixing artists such as the Doors, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley. His Remix of Riders on the Storm made its mark and Lenny was called to produce his first movie soundtracks. Since 1997, Lenny Ibizarre has produced 12 albums and is a multi-platinum selling artist. His Chilled Ibiza Compilations sold over 1.5 million copies in the UK…
