Prenez un patron milliardaire égocentrique dont le charme dévastateur fait la une de la presse à scandale. Lorsque George Wade (Hugh GRANT) embauche Lucy Kelson (Sandra BULLOCK) comme conseiller juridique, celle-ci ne se doute pas de l'importance qu'il va prendre dans sa vie… car George n'hésite pas à l'appeler au milieu de la nuit pour lui demander des conseils en tout genre ! Femmes, affaires, cravates…Lucy dirige la vie de George au détriment de la sienne. Après deux ans de bons et loyaux services, au bord de la crise de nerfs, elle donne son préavis. Entre alors en scène une jeune recrue, belle et ambitieuse, qui décide de mettre le grappin sur George… et de le séparer de son ancienne collaboratrice, qu'il semble bien regretter !

A swift follow-up to Dans Paris by the French writer/director Christophe Honore, Love Songs is a charming contemporary musical, in which the actors nonchalantly break into songs to express their characters' emotions. Divided into three chapters - departure, absence, and return - the story concerns the menage a trois between twenty-somethings Ismael (Honore regular Louis Garrel), Julie (Ludivine Sagnier), and Alice (Clotilde Hesme), only for tragedy to strike one of the trio out of the blue.
"Toutes les chansons d'amour racontent la même histoire." Des histoires d'amours un peu particulières dans le cas du film de Christophe Honoré. Du sacrifice amoureux à l'amour filial, il en explore toutes les facettes avec légèreté et humour avant que le tragique ne survienne. Brutalement. C'est alors un autre film que nous donne à voir le réalisateur. Une histoire, d'amour toujours, où chacun fait ce qu'il peut pour faire face à l'épreuve. Christophe Honoré ne juge pas les réactions des uns et des autres, il laisse juste vivre ses personnages, perdus, seuls ou épaulés. Les acteurs déambulent dans Paris alors que s'enchaînent les chansons, toutes justes et parfaitement intégrées à l'histoire et au jeu (excellent) des acteurs. Christophe Honoré signe une comédie musicale parfaitement huilée, un film touchant, léger et sombre à la fois. Une jolie surprise qui vous cueille sans prévenir et vous laisserait presque sans voix.

In this amusing comedy, Leon (Claude Melki) is the naíve tailor who believes men are coming to see his trollop sister Marie (Bernadette Lafont) to have their palms read. Her boyfriend Maxime (Jean-Pierre Marielle) acts as her pimp. Marie saves Arlette (Chantal Goya) from suicide and the shy Leon falls for the young provincial girl. Arlette is recruited by Maxime, and Leon learns the truth about his sister. He sends away Arlette's potential customers with a variety of ruses and excuses, eventually hoping to win the girl's heart himself, but Arlette eventually returns to the country when she ponders her life as a Parisian prostitute.
