Anatomy

Charles Hu is a figure painter and notable art instructor. In 2007, he co-founded his own fine art school, 3Kicks Fine Art Studio in Pasadena California. Charles received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He began his instructional career at L.A. Academy of Figurative Arts. His commissions include numerous portrait paintings, character designs for film and game pitches, murals and comic books for the movie End of the Spear. His work has been exhibited at Wendt Gallery in Laguna Beach California. Charles currently instructs at Art Center College of Design and Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood.

The field of anatomy is dynamic and fertile. The rapid advances in technology in the past few years have produced exciting opportunities in the teaching of gross anatomy such as 3D printing, virtual reality, augmented reality, digital anatomy models, portable ultrasound, and more. Pedagogical innovations such as gamification and the flipped classroom, among others, have also been developed and implemented. As a result, preparing anatomy teachers in the use of these new teaching tools and methods is very timely.

Visual Anatomy is an interactive reference, and education tool. The full version contains more than 500 high-resolution images and more than 850 feature points which can be interactively selected. Each feature has its own label and short description. The app also has search function which can be used as searching the labels of all feature points. In additional, 6 quizzes with 150 multi-choice questions also are included. It also can be used as a anatomy guide.
