One of the most beloved of all of Bluegrass and country music's many 'brother acts', Sonny and Bobby Osborne reigned supreme in their chosen field of music for over 50 years. Apprenticing with Bluegrass founding father Bill Monroe and fellow foundation artist Jimmy Martin respectively, the brothers forged their own act and own sound with third vocalist Red Allen in 1953. For the next couple of decades they were seldom far from the charts.Jasmine's new compilation 'Are You Mad At Your Man' focuses on the brothers' first six years of success and brings together the A and B sides of every single they released (the first seven of them with Allen) between 1956 and 1962.

Playing the role of R&B love god has always come naturally to Luther Vandross. On his Virgin debut, he eases into his groove once again. Whether he's dealing in the easy, gospel-inflected pop of album opener "Keeping My Faith in You" or the jazzy hooks of the title track (with Stevie Wonder guesting on harmonica), Vandross is in command. While the faux hip-hop of "Get It Right" (with rap by Precise) seems a bit forced, the disc is strong overall. R&B doesn't get any glossier.

Charlie McCoy was perhaps the definitive Nashville session musician, a multi-talented performer best known for his harmonica playing and whose mastery of the instrument virtually defined its role within the context of modern country music. Though born in West Virginia on March 28, 1941, Charles Ray McCoy was raised in Miami, Florida, where he first picked up the harmonica at the age of eight. By his mid-teens, he was playing harmonica and guitar in an area rock & roll band, and a few years later graduated to traveling the Florida rock and country circuits as a backup performer. At one local gig, he met Mel Tillis, who instructed McCoy to move to Nashville, which he did in 1959.

Count Basie was among the most important bandleaders of the swing era. With the exception of a brief period in the early '50s, he led a big band from 1935 until his death almost 50 years later, and the band continued to perform after he died…
