In 2008, Eclipse returns after a lengthy absence, with 'Are You Ready To Rock'. Eclipse has moved into a new era with this more contemporary sound, but they never once abandon the melodic base they created on the first two albums. This is also heavier and more focused than ever before. This is a classic European style melodic hard rock album with a monster sound and a old-school melodic edge thanks to vocalist Erik Mårtensson.
After the amazing worldwide success of the last album "Bleed & Scream", Erik Martensson, vocals and main songwriter of the Eclipse band, has decided to remaster the previous disc, "Are You Ready to Rock", this time with the insignia "MMXIV" (2014), with a formidable renewed sound and a new cover art. In this third disc, after four years without composing, they found this formula, the formula "Eclipse".
The Canadian band's tenth studio album follows 2002's Palace of Gold, which found Blue Rodeo reinvigorated and ready to occasionally break out of the country-pop-rock mold that they are inextricably linked to. The ostentatious horns and strings of the group's previous release are gone (except for the stray solo trumpet on the closing two tracks), replaced with a British Invasion feel for the opening cuts. But after the twangy guitars appear on the third song, Rodeo play to their strengths. That's not a bad thing, though, as both founding guitarist/vocalists Greg Keelor and Jim Cuddy have crafted some particularly earnest and soulful country-rock that stands with their best work.
Robin Erikkson, Mats Erikkson, Mikael Blanc and Daniel Johansson have come a long long way in six albums. Their focus is clearly on the road ahead, but they steal frequent looks into AOR’s rear view mirror…
"Are You Ready" is the sixth album by Bai Bang, and stalwart fans can relax and be happy: the Swedes have been 100% true to themselves. No experiments, no attempt to sound "new" - the band simply stays as it is. As usual, they deliver Glam'n'Sleaze Hard Rock deeply rooted in the 80s. The first song "I like the things you hate" is the essence of the band's style (it's one of the best on the album): combos such as Ratt, L.A. Guns, Cinderella, Britny Fox are big influences for Bai Bang.
Despite a huge hit single in the mid-'70s ("The Boys Are Back in Town") and becoming a popular act with hard rock/heavy metal fans, Thin Lizzy are still, in the pantheon of '70s rock bands, underappreciated. Formed in the late '60s by Irish singer/songwriter/bassist Phil Lynott, Lizzy, though not the first band to do so, combined romanticized working-class sentiments with their ferocious, twin-lead guitar attack.
Are You Ready – The RCA Era is a new seven-LP vinyl box set that collects the RCA studio albums of British Glam Rock band Sweet along with bonus tracks and an unreleased live album. All the albums within are pressed on 180g vinyl and come in ‘completely restored’ artwork. The five studio long-players within are Funny How Sweet Co-Co Can Be (1971), Sweet Fanny Adams (1974), Desolation Boulevard (1974) Give Us A Wink (1976), and Off The Record (1977). All of them offer at least one or two bonus tracks per side (non-album A-sides and B-sides) with the exception of Give Us A Wink which is consistent with the original UK track listing.
