Astrid Engberg’s masterful sophomore album Trust finds the Danish singer, producer, composer and DJ paying tribute to intuition and new motherhood. Spanning contemporary soul, nu jazz, electronic and more, the LP sees her collaborating with a line-up of Nordic talent as well as Los Angeles-based Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, a venerated multi-instrumentalist, conductor and composer known for works with Ray Charles, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige as well as his esteemed orchestral reimagining of J Dilla’s back catalogue titled Suite For Ma Dukes. Trust will be released through the Danish record label Creak Inc. Records which specialises in groundbreaking Danish music.

Austrian band Shake Stew, led by the formidable bassist Lukas Kranzelbinder, release their sixth album 'Lila'. To say that they've been on a roll since their inception in 2016 would be an understatement. With an enviable collection of awards already behind them, this year they were awarded Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2023: no mean feat as it's the first instrumental act in 20 years to win in the Jazz/World/Blues category since Joe Zawinul won with Faces & Places. The band's unusual configuration of 2 drummers, 2 bass players and 3 horns remains, as does the line up of Johannes Schleiermacher, Mario Rom and Astrid Wiesinger making up the wind section with Nikolaus Dolp and Herbert Pirker on drums and Lukas Kranzelbinder and Oliver Potratz on bass.
