Named by Rolling Stone as one of 2005 s Top Ten Artists to Watch, Amos Lee has opened for Bob Dylan and toured with Norah Jones. Pretty heady stuff for a 27-year-old from south Philadelphia who had just quit his last job teaching elementary school and released his first-ever album. Critics and music buffs alike were so enamored by his quiet, understated but soulful singing style that it seemed he could do no wrong.

Released in 2005, the John Hiatt installment of the LIVE FROM AUSTIN TX series (which features recordings made for various broadcasts of the famed TV show Austin City Limits) presents the singer/songwriter live in concert during late 1993. Hiatt is supported by musicians from alt-rock bands School of Fish (guitarist Michael Ward) and Cracker (drummer Michael Urbano and bassist Davey Faragher), giving his wry narratives, mostly drawn from the album PERFECTLY GOOD GUITAR, a solid foundation and an added dose of youthful energy.
