In 2015, our Schubert Edition with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Nikolaus Harnoncourt received high praise from critics all over the world. The BBC Music Magazine celebrated the recordings as a “feast of Schubert”, and in France they were awarded the prestigious Diapason d’Or. The edition is now being released in a budget version. It presents the composer’s eight symphonies on five CDs/SACDs which can be played on any CD/SACD player. The edition includes a top-quality slipcase and a comprehensive booklet. The qualities of the performances which were recorded between 2003 and 2006 are also revealed in the CD/SACD edition. This Schubert is colourful and dramatic – and represents a unique synthesis in which the famous sound of the Berliner Philharmoniker is as evident as Nikolaus Harnoncourt’s familiarity with the transparency and sound speech of historical performance practice.

Bridge Records launches Anne-Marie McDermott's Mozart Piano Concerto cycle with Vol.1 of the series offering Concerto no.6, K238, and Concerto no.13, K415. The Odense Symfoniorkester is conducted by Scott Yoo. Of Ms McDermott's extraordinary musicianship BBC Music Magazine recently wrote: 'McDermott's heart has heft and translucence, structural certainty and seasoned humanity.'

This is the ninth installment in Ronald Brautigam's series of the complete piano concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. As on previous discs, Brautigam whose 'muscular yet sensitively nuanced command of Mozartian discourse' (BBC Music Magazine) is supported by Die Kölner Akademie under Michael Alexander Willens. The opening work on this installment is the C major concerto, K 415, which was first performed on 23rd March 1783 in the presence of Emperor Joseph II. K 415 was composed in conjunction with the Concerto No. 11 in F major, K 413, which in contrast is a more intimate creation, especially in its Larghetto middle movement, in which Mozart achieves some of his most memorable writing, with the various textures of the orchestra providing a cushion of sound for a delicious cantabile aria for the piano a model that was to become almost a trademark of his later concerto slow movements.

BBC Music Magazine award-winning violinist Fenella Humphreys joins forces with pianist Nicola Eimer in this album featuring six Sonatinas for Violin and Piano. The Sonatina, sometimes considered a light-weight relative of the Sonata, is often overlooked, both in recital and on recordings. In exploring this genre, Humphreys and Eimer discover some neglected treasures from the twentieth-century Sonatina repertoire, including Jean Françaixs quirky take on the form, Lennox Berkeleys expressive and romantic rendering, and the delightfully charming and appealing Sonatina in E Major by Sibelius. The album also ventures into the twenty-first century, with two exciting new world premieres by Cheryl Frances-Hoad and Gordon Crosse, both written for Fenella Humphreys.

Leon Bosch has an honoured place among the select group of virtuoso double bass players worldwide. Concerto engagements in many parts of the world with the likes of conductors Pinchas Zukerman, Nicolas Kraemer, Nicolae Moldoveanu and Guido Johannes Rumstadt have been matched by collaborations with a long line of leading chamber music groups - among them the Lindsay, Belcea and Brodsky string quartets, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble, the Moscow Virtuosi and the Zukerman Chamber Players. Partnerships with solo performers have embraced such pianists as Peter Donohoe, Vladimir Ovchinikov, Mikhail Rudy and Maria João Pires.

19-year-old Dutch recorder superstar Lucie Horsch is taking us on a trip around Baroque Europe for her new album ‘Baroque Journey’, released on Decca Classics on 22nd February. Recorded with the Academy of Ancient Music, Lucie performs some of the most virtuosic music from her native Netherlands, as well as Germany, Italy, France and England.
