Marc had previously hinted that his 2010 album Varieté would be his last recording to feature his own new material. Famed English producer and songwriter Chris Braide (Lana Del Ray, David Guetta, Beyoncé, Britney Spears), is a huge fan of Marc’s work and succeeded in making Marc change his mind.
German compilation features all the T. Rex A-sides released between 1972 & 1978 on disc one & 28 B-sides on disc two, 16 page colour booklet. First, full disclosure is necessary as to what's missing. Ready? On this glorious double-CD collection, there isn't one track from T. Rex's Electric Warrior. That's right, "Bang a Gong," "Mambo Sun," and "Jeepster" are all absent. Why? Simple: it appears Warner is recalcitrant to license that wondrous album to anyone in any form. It turns out that this is simply a small complaint because none of the tracks from Electric Warrior should be separated from its full corpus anyway – it is an album in the purest and more literal sense of the world. Getting to what is here, listeners do get tracks from that beautiful slab The Slider as well as Tanx, Light of Love , Bolan's Zip Gun, Dandy in the Underworld, Futuristic Dragon, and a slew of 45s never issued on LP.
3 Trumpets + 4 Saxophones + 3 Trombones + Drums & Bass + a man and his guitar = the Adriano BaTolba Orchestra. A lifelong dream has come true for Adriano BaTolba. While working with Dick Brave & the Backbeats he was already nurturing the idea of Germany’s only, if not Europe’s only Rockabilly big band. For Adriano this seemed like the perfect way to marry his background in Jazz with his passion for Rockabilly. Through his vast experience as a producer and performer BaTolba had become acquainted with just about every brass section of note in Germany and all it took was a few phone calls to get the top cats in the game to jump on board. (Some of these guys had already worked with the likes of Anastacia, Shirley Bassey, Michael Buble, Joe Cocker, Falco, David Garrett, Lionel Richie, Seal and Dionne Warwick).
Equinox produced Styx's first single with A&M, the highly spirited "Lorelei," which found its way to number 27 on the charts. Although it was the only song to chart from Equinox, the album itself is a benchmark in the band's career since it includes an instrumental nature reminiscent of their early progressive years, yet hints toward a more commercial-sounding future in its lyrics…
