Bad Boys Blue is a multinational dance-pop group formed in Cologne, Germany, in 1984 and originally featuring British lead singer John McInerney, American Andrew Thomas, and Jamaican-born Trevor Taylor. After Taylor left the group in 1988, he was replaced by Trevor Travis; upon scoring a number 89 chart hit in 1993 with "Save Your Love," Travis exited as well, and Bad Boys Blue continued as a duo until adding Mo Russel in 1995. His 1999 departure made way for Jo Jo Max.

The group performed many international hits including "You're a Woman", "Pretty Young Girl", "I Wanna Hear Your Heartbeat", and "Come Back and Stay". The group became massively popular in Eastern Europe, South America, and South Africa, with the band performing to sell-out crowds in Russia and Ukraine. In contrast, the group never charted in the UK, and their only charting U.S. singles were "Save Your Love" and "I Totally Miss You" (1993) which became successful chart hits.

Als 1985 der Song „You're A Woman“ weltweit die Charts aufmischte, hätte es wohl kaum jemand für möglich gehalten, dass die Gruppe 35 Jahre später immer noch rund um den Globus aktiv ist! Ausverkaufte Events in den Staaten, Kanada, Vietnam, Russland etc. bis hierzulande sprechen eine deutliche Sprache. Dass 2020 ein neues Album möglich war, war 2018 noch fast undenkbar. Zwischen zwei Gigs in Sibirien lieferten sich zwei Trucks auf geschlossener Eisdecke ein Rennen, worauf eines dieser Fahrzeuge mit voller Wucht in die Seite des Tourbusses der Band krachte. John McInerney, der zunächst einige Wochen im Koma lag, musste sich daraufhin einigen Operationen in Russland unterziehen, bevor er nach vielen Wochen in ein hiesiges Krankenhaus verlegt werden konnte. Mit einer enormen Disziplin kämpfte sich der aus Liverpool stammende Brite anschließend zurück.
