Baikonur

Il 27 marzo 2015, dal cosmodromo di Baikonur, in Kazakistan, viene lanciata la navicella Sojuz TMA-16M, destinazione ISS, la Stazione Spaziale Internazionale che dal 1998 orbita a 400 chilometri dalla Terra. A bordo, oltre ai due cosmonauti russi Michail Kornienko e Gennadij Padalka, c'è l'astronauta statunitense Scott Kelly. Non è certo la sua prima missione, ma questa volta dovrà compiere un'impresa mai realizzata da un americano: trascorrere un anno intero nello spazio e sottoporsi a test medici sugli effetti dei voli interplanetari di lunga durata. Un'avventura straordinaria, costellata di momenti indimenticabili - emozionanti passeggiate nello spazio, stupefacenti aurore boreali, albe e tramonti mai visti -, ma eccezionalmente impegnativa dal punto di vista psicofisico…

In Energiya-Buran: the Soviet Space Shuttle, the authors describe the long development path of the Soviet space shuttle system, consisting of the Energiya rocket and the Buran orbiter. The program eventually saw just one unmanned flight in November 1988 before the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union sealed its fate.

The first cinematic journey to the International Space Station (ISS), where audiences can experience for themselves life in zero gravity aboard the new station. The audience blasts off into space with the astronauts and cosmonauts from Florida's Kennedy Space Center and Russia's Baikonur Cosmodrome to rendezvous with their new home in orbit 220 miles above Earth.
