French saxophonist Laurent Bardainne summons the spirit of astral jazz on heavy-grooving album, Hymne au Soleil.

The quarantine time was long for the musicians, deprived of concerts. We know that Laurent Bardainne is not only a talented jazzman but we sometimes forget that he masters machines and has a long electronic past with his band Poni Hoax.

Musician, composer, bandleader and musical rubik's cube, Laurent Bardainne is a saxophonist who trained at The Paris Conservatory. Hes collaborated with Pharrell Williams, Cassius and Philippe Katerine to name just a few and presents here his latest project, Tigre deau Douce Also co-founder of electro rock band Poni Hoax (Tigersushi Records), Limousine, a duet with Camélia Jordana and more recently Sabrina & Samantha for Ed Banger. This album, sees a return to his first love of jazz, The Tigre deau Douce, represents a species doomed to disappear.

Poni Hoax, groupe maudit et inaccessible formé par Laurent Bardainne en 2006 sort son quatrième album, Tropical Suite. A ceux qui les croyaient disparus, le groupe était en voyage loin de sa propre histoire, dans les faubourgs sombres de São Paulo, Capetown ou Bangkok.

Their music is contemplative, sensual, fascinating, visionary. II contains The Reindeer, used for french filmmaker Bruno Dumont’s movie’s trailer soundtrack, Hors Satan, selected at Cannes film festival in 2011.
