World premiere of complete James Horner early space opera soundtrack! Following on the heels of Intrada’s expanded release of Humanoids From The Deep is James Horner’s wildly popular early outer space epic, scored in 1980 when the young composer’s career was literally just getting underway. Highlights from the score were released on vinyl at the time, and that program has appeared numerous times on CD. Now Intrada is proud to finally present the entire score, newly expanded and remastered from the actual 2” 24-track recording session masters for the first time ever!

Shad, a young farmer, assembles a band of diverse mercenaries in outer space to defend his peaceful planet from the evil tyrant Sador and his armada of aggressors. Among the mercenaries are Space Cowboy, a spacegoing truck driver from Earth; Gelt, a wealthy but experienced assassin looking for a place to hide; and Saint-Exmin, a Valkyrie warrior looking to prove herself in battle.

The story is a pastiche of Akira Kurosawa's film Seven Samurai and its western remake, The Magnificent Seven. The farmers of the peaceful planet Akir, named in honor of Akira Kurosawa, are threatened by the space tyrant Sador (played by Corman regular John Saxon, carrying the old Eli Wallach role). Richard Thomas plays Shad, who sets out to recruit a band of mercenaries to fight Sador. This band includes Gelt, played by Robert Vaughn in a part that is essentially a reprise of his role in The Magnificent Seven with many of the same lines of dialogue; George Peppard (who was originally considered to play Vin, Steve McQueen's character, in The Magnificent Seven) as a space cowboy; and Saint-Exmin, a member of the alien Valkyrie race, played by Sybil Danning.
The film contains many of the clichés that came to dominate sci-fi films following Star Wars including giant spaceships, exotic aliens and the finale of a suicidal assault on a space fortress.
Footage from the movie was used in the creation of the laser disk game Astron Belt.

Thirty years before Battle Beyond the Stars, Zed of Akir boards an alien space craft and is drawn into an open galaxy unknown to him. There he finds himself in a race against time to stop a race called the Oztems from being wiped out by the ruthless Remlar of the Malmori, and his 1st lieutenant, Sador.

A small Pacific fishing town will bear the consequences of a scientific experiment gone wrong when people start missing. It won't be long until an army of mutated creatures, half man -half fish, attack the small town hungry and horny(!!!), butchering the men and raping the women.

In 1987, Captain William "Buck" Rogers pilots his space shuttle on a mission but a meteor storm freezes him into an orbit that returns him to Earth 500 years later. In the year 2491, his shuttle is found and captured by the Draconian flagship, under the command of Princess Ardala and her henchman Kane. Reviving him, they return him to Earth after planting a homing beacon aboard his shuttle to track a path through Earth's defense barrier. Now, Buck Rogers must adjust to the 25th century, and convince the Terrans that the Draconians are planning to conquer Earth.

BATTLE BEYOND THE SUN (1962), VOYAGE TO A PREHISTORIC PLANET (1965), VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN (1968), and PLANETA BUR (PLANET OF STORMS, 1962). In the mid-1960s producer Roger Corman purchased the US rights to a handful of Soviet sci-fi movies: PLANETA BUR (PLANET OF STORMS, 1962), THE SKY BECKONS (NEBO ZOVYOT, 1959) and A DREAM COMES TRUE (MECHTE NAVSTRECHU, 1963). From these three movies Corman fashioned four ''new'' movies: QUEEN OF BLOOD (1966), BATTLE BEYOND THE SUN (1962), VOYAGE TO A PREHISTORIC PLANET (1965) and VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN (1968).
