"Every Beat of My Heart" is the 3rd studio album by iconic AOR singer Stan Bush originally released in 1992. "Ever Beat…" took a further step in the commercial rock direction of the late `80s-early `90s, proving an obvious successor to "Stan Bush & Barrage". This 3rd album saw Stan's return in the solo artist format as opposed to the band scenario he adopted during the mid-80s. Without a doubt, "Every Beat" is even more polished than the previous two albums, clearly favoring the keyboards over the guitar; that is not to say that guitar parts have been reduced, simply they come somewhat lower in the mix while thankfully the six-string solos establish a firm presence once again. One has to adress that tempos have also dropped on "Every Beat…" making mid-tempo and ballads the norm. Never the less, Stan compensates by delivering some of his best choruses and many incredible vocal lines overall.

Seven-times Grammy winner GLADYS KNIGHT, aka 'The Empress Of Soul', has long established herself at top table, having carved out a swathe of hit records with her backing group THE PIPS, who included her brother Merald 'Bubba' Knight Jr. and her cousins, William Guest and Edward Patten. From the minds behind the two volumes of Funky Fräuleins, Beat Fräuleins winds the clock back slightly further, focusing on the mid-'60s and a parade of solo German females with a variety of arrangements – most of them pretty sophisticated for the '60s. Whether the performers are pursuing the prevalent beat sound, indulging in a Motown pastiche or two, snarling like garage rockers, or covering Western hits (Sonny & Cher's "The Beat Goes On," the Hollies' "Bus Stop," and the Supremes' "Stop! In the Name of Love" receive the Germanic treatment), all of these tracks are worth the unearthing.

With classical pianist Kevin Savigar established as his songwriting partner, Rod Stewart marched into the mid-'80s in finer shape than he'd been in for a few years. Every Beat of My Heart was his 15th solo album and, after the disappointments of the preceding Body Wishes and Camouflage, the wistful romance of the title track alone suggested that he was back on track. Unfortunately, it was not to be. One could compile a genuinely excellent collection from across Stewart's entire '80s output. But Every Beat of My Heart, like the LPs on either side of it, found him floundering directionless in a sea of, on the one hand, syrupy schmaltz; and, on the other, clichéd rockers, with just the occasional flash of style sneaking in, to remind us why we even cared any longer.

The Beat of My Heart is a 1957 album by jazz singer Tony Bennett. For this Columbia album Tony Bennett had started working with English jazz pianist Ralph Sharon and together they devised this percussion influenced treatment and invited percussionists Chico Hamilton, Jo Jones, Billy Exiner, Art Blakey, Candido Camero and Sabu Martinez to take part; Ralph Sharon was arranger and conductor.

UK collection of tracks from this '60s French chanteuse. From French parentage and good Royal stock (Prince Philip was her godfather), she quickly rose to 1962/1963's Pop royalty with former Shadow Tony Meehan as her recording manager producing her one and only hit, Jerry Lordan's cute as they come 'I'm Just a Baby'. She further boasted an address book that contained Paul McCartney, who she regularly hully gullied with, and Gerry Marsden, who wrote the Pacemakers' subsequent hit, 'Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying', especially for her. A bit of a Mersey beat pin up, Louise would tour with both the Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers later that year.
