Take: The Belle of New York (1897), which got off to a very slow start there, conquered London's West End with almost 700 performances, became a model of "musical comedy" and has remained so to this day. The Theater für Niedersachsen, which became Broadway with "The Belle of New York", always receives rapturous applause.
