INNER FEELINGS is a largely-self produced follow up to 1981's NIGHTS, boasting some of the most fitting music ever paired to Billy Ocean's sublime voice. "Calypso Funkin" is treads the same Caribbean-influenced funk ground as "Stay The Night", but adds even more finesse, "Dance With Me" is too cool for school, "Rock-A-Bye Baby" is serene, and dives into a jazzy breakdown that might remind some of Herbie Hancock's work in the same period (down to the synthesizer voices), and the title track is one of the best closers on any R&B album period.
