The 1970s were not kind to the Kinks. While the band had already transitioned gracefully from their mod-ish British Invasion origins (and the heavy production thumb of Shel Talmy) into something more adventurous and artful with 1968's The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society, that masterpiece's two iconic follow-ups (Arthur and Lola) found Ray Davies' weird twin penchants for acidic lyricism and music hall song structures becoming more and more dominant in the group's sound.

By the time the 1971 soundtrack to Percy rolled around, U.S. audiences had all but forgotten about the band, who soon found themselves facing the same fate in their native England.

Recognition came unusually early for Slava Polunin, and from that moment on, his fame was unstoppable. This is probably because Slava doesn't do things "just like that". Everything in his life is very well considered, very finely weighed - even the most crazy, the most incredible, the most adventurous of feats. In achieving his aims, he is concrete, collected and imperturbable.

Heitor Pereira is reuniting with director Raja Gosnell (Never Been Kissed, Scooby-Doo, Big Momma’s House) on the upcoming family comedy Show Dogs. The film starring Will Arnett, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Natasha Lyonne, Jordin Sparks, Gabriel Iglesias, Shaquille O’Neal, Alan Cumming and Stanley Tucci revolves around the unlikely pairing of a human detective and his canine partner who has to go undercover at the world’s most exclusive dog show to solve his biggest case yet. Max Botkin (What Happened to Monday) & Marc Hyman (Osmosis Jones, The Perfect Score) wrote the screenplay. Deepak Nayar (Bend It Like Beckham, City of Ghosts, Sense8) and Philip von Alvensleben are producing the project. Pereira has previously scored Gosnell’s last three features, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, The Smurfs and The Smurfs 2. Show Dogs will be released in theaters nationwide on May 18, 2018 by Global Road Entertainment.
