Bill O'hanlon

Bill Monroe was a mandolin player, singer, songwriter and bandleader who, with his band The Bluegrass Boys, basing their name on the characteristic blue grass of the Kentucky landscape. In so doing, he effectively gave his name to an entire sub-genre of music - Bluegrass – which did not really exist under that name before he made his unique mark on the country scene in the 1940s. With its roots in Celtic music and old-time fiddle music for dancing, it also borrowed from blues and jazz, and was characterised by impressive high-speed virtuoso musicianship, with his band during this era providing a career platform for Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs.

After six years with Decca, during which they sold millions of records, Bill Haley And His Comets signed with Warner Bros - at that time a relatively new record company - in 1960.

Recorded over the span of more than 18 months, Strictly Instrumental was the ninth rock and roll album by Bill Haley & His Comets, and their final album of new material for Decca Records (although Decca would release previously unissued recordings during the 1960s).

Gotcha! is a 1985 American action comedy film, starring Anthony Edwards and Linda Fiorentino and directed by Jeff Kanew, who also directed Edwards in Revenge of the Nerds in 1984.
Jonathan Moore (Edwards) is a shy UCLA veterinary student and the reigning champion at "Gotcha", a campus-wide paintball game. While on vacation in Paris, he is seduced by an older woman, the sexy and mysterious Sasha (Fiorentino) who turns out to be an international spy. When he returns home to Los Angeles, there is a strange canister of film in his backpack and a team of KGB agents on his back. Suddenly he is in the middle of a real life-or-death game of "Gotcha".

Newly mixed and mastered in high resolution from the original multi-track scoring masters housed at Universal Studios. This presentation offers far more music than is heard in the film. Conti’s original cues not only offer a glimpse into the evolution of the Big Fix score, but into the versatility which is the hallmark of the composer’s craft. Conti brings out every weapon in his considerable musical arsenal for this soundtrack. Along with distinctive motifs, he energetically celebrates disco and out-and-out jazz, sometimes in one cue (“Moses to Lila’s”). “Hiding the Boys,” which opens as sheer suspense—discordant strings combined with sudden, jolting bursts of percussion—explodes into unalloyed action. Another masterful suspense piece is “Moses Driving Through Town”; here, buzzing guitar, eerie strings and creepy piano runs build to a potent detonation of brass. In short, The Big Fix is a dazzling display of this essential composer’s wide-ranging talents.
