Bird Dance

This recording shines a light on Australian composition for the saxophone combined with piano and at times joined by cello, violin and percussion. Some works are adaptations of music originally for oboe made by the composers themselves (Edwards, Hindson, Broadstock), and all recordings are premieres of which two (Chan and Orlovich) were commissioned specifically for this project.

Alexander Lövmark (born 1985) is a Swedish vocalist and composer primarily oriented into jazz music.

It’s been twenty years since the first public performance of Gregorio Zanon’s music. It was in 1999, in Geneva. The pianist Xavier Dami, who had encouraged Zanon’s early attempts at composition and helped him understand the expressive resources of the instrument, was at the piano performing Prayer Suite.

Alfred Matthew Yankovic was born October 23, 1959, in Downey, California.

Emilia Amper, one of Sweden’s most exciting young folk musicians, is also one of the finest nyckelharpa players in the world today. (In fact, she can even boast of being a World Champion on the instrument, a title she won in 2010.) For Trollfågeln, her first solo disc, she has devised a programme which demonstrates the numerous facets of her own musical personality, and of her instrument.

This magnificent live recording marks saxophonist's Charles Lloyd’s first Blue Note release in 30 years. The six-movement "Wild Man Dance" was recorded in its premiere performance at the Jazztopad Festival in Wroclaw, Poland in 2013 and features pianist Gerald Clayton, bassist Joe Sanders and drummer Gerald Cleaver, as well as Greek lyra virtuoso Sokratis Sinopoulos and Hungarian cimbalom maestro Miklós Lukács, who colour, texture and rhythmically charge the music.

Moloko‘s final album, Statues, will be issued as a limited 2LP coloured vinyl pressing in November. The 2003 album features the top 20 singles singles ‘Familiar Feeling’ and ‘Forever More’ and is the final 2LP coloured vinyl reissue from Music On Vinyl.

Movements from classical to jazz, gestures of humor and sensitivity: without limiting herself, Emmanuelle explores the possible sounds of the voice in search of freedom. "Préludzet Menuet" combines collective improvisation, potpourri and bird dance.

The Deluxe Edition features a remastered version of the original stereo mix for Rocket To Russia, plus the 2017 40th Anniversary Tracking Mix created by Ed Stasium, which provides a back-to-basics version of the album, and a different track listing from the 1977 original. Two dozen rare and unreleased recordings are found on the second disc, including rough mixes from sessions at Mediasound and The Power Station. A highlight of this Deluxe Edition is the complete unreleased concert included on the third disc. This never-before-heard multi-track recording of the band's December 19, 1977 show at the Apollo Centre in Glasgow, Scotland captures the Ramones just a few days before the group recorded the classic live album It's Alive, and mixed for this 40th Anniversary edition by Ed Stasium.
