"Heaven Forbid" is the thirteenth studio album by Blue Öyster Cult. It was originally released on March 24, 1998 in Europe and was the band's first full studio album containing original material since 1988's “Imaginos”. Science fiction author John Shirley contributed heavily to the album, writing lyrics for all except two original songs. A live version of the track "In Thee" was included as well. “Heaven Forbid” is one classy slab of hard rock featuring intricate arrangements, provocative lyrics, and spine-tingling guitar solos.

Blue Öyster Cult is an American rock band formed in New York in 1967 and still active in 2009. The group is especially well known for songs including "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", "Astronomy", "Godzilla", "Burnin' for You" and "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll." They have sold over 14 million albums worldwide, including 7 million in the US alone.

Perhaps recognizing Columbia Records' failure to release a proper greatest-hits album, Blue Öyster Cult re-recorded its best-known material on this collection, which was tied into the broadcast of a TV mini-series version of Stephen King's The Stand, a horror novel that had mentioned BÖC's hit "(Don't Fear) The Reaper." The selection of songs here is good, and this edition of BÖC (original members Eric Bloom, Allen Lanier, and Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, plus replacement members Chuck Burgi and Jon Rogers) re-creates the original recordings closely. But they are re-recordings. (The album contains 12 tracks, plus extra performances of "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" and "Godzilla" in so-called "TV mixes" – i.e., without vocals). ~ William Ruhlmann

Rock Songs is a 1999 2CD compilation with some of the best rock music you could ever want. It may very well consist of songs within the Columbia/Sony catalog but it may be all of the rock you need or could handle. This was released by Sony Music Media.

This professionally filmed concert video was released in tandem with its similarly titled live audio-only counterpart. Any fan of the band is encouraged to choose this over the CD if only because it adds six songs and nearly 45 minutes onto the playing time. Caught at a single show in Chicago on June 21, 2002, Blue Oyster Cult roars through their hits and selected album tracks with a renewed but not quite youthful vigor, belying the 40-something ages of the primary players. Candid interviews included as bonus footage show the three originals still on board (Allen Lanier, Eric Bloom and Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser) testifying that the band has never sounded better, and the live show proves it.

Tyranny And Mutation is the second album by New York hard rockers Blue Öyster Cult. This was their second album and this is taken from the quadraphonic vinyl. What you will hear is the quadraphonic mix in stereo, no special equipment or encoders are needed. Hearing the quad vinyl mix in stereo is equal to hearing something in an alternate mix.

Amongst the audience for this landmark West Coast concert was Sylvie Simmons, local reporter for leading UK music weekly the 'New Musical Express'. She welcomed the more intimate nature of the event, noting that last time BOC had played in the area the venue was one of those monstrous stadium fiascos where, without binoculars, it's a bit like watching the bumps on a page of Braille. Setting the scene for this evening's performance, she wrote: BOC start out pretty revved up with Dr. Music. Allen Lanier's out front doing a Stevie Nicks, shaking a heavy metal tambourine, Joseph Bouchard's trying to outdo him on the maracas, and Eric Bloom's going 'Hey LA' and rabble rousing quite wonderfully.
