Bruce and the E Street Band kick off the 2025 tour of Europe with a 27-song set. It’s Springsteen’s first full concert of the year, and falls on the same date he first performed in Manchester on The River tour in 1981. HIGHLIGHTS: Tour premieres of “Rainmaker” (from 2020’s Letter To You) in its debut performance; “Murder Incorporated,” returning for the first time since 2017; and “Chimes of Freedom” (written and recorded by Bob Dylan), which closes the encore, its first appearance in an E Street Band show since 1988. “My Love Will Not Let You Down,” “My City of Ruins,” and “Born in the U.S.A.” return to the set; “House of a Thousand Guitars,” last performed in 2023, is performed solo acoustic.

Bruce and the E Street Band perform a 30-song set on the second night in Liverpool. In the encore, Sir Paul McCartney joins for two songs: a debut performance of The Beatles’ “Can’t Buy Me Love” (written by Lennon–McCartney), and “Kansas City” (last performed in 2012; written by Leiber and Stoller, popularized by Little Richard, The Beatles, and James Brown).

If the world is a cafe, its ridiculous patrons babbling ridiculously all day long, then Ron Mael is the guy on his own in the corner that you don't notice, quietly sipping his coffee. An iconoclast with a large, loyal audience and a long, very successful career, Neil Young has explored a impressive range of styles – from acoustic introspection and wistful country rock to blistering hard rock, electronic experimentation, blues, rockabilly, and heartfelt polemics – while sounding entirely like Neil Young at all times, with his engagingly craggy voice, his flinty sincerity, and unique gifts as a songwriter. Young's creative restlessness is a comfortable match for his prolific nature, and he's not averse to dropping his current fascinations for something else on the drop of a dime, which frustrates some fans but also helps keep his music fresh and full of ideas. Even when he's in relatively familiar musical territory (his electric music with Crazy Horse, his rootsy semi-acoustic work, the intimacy of his solo performances, his thematic albums focusing on life experiences and his take on the world around him), there's a spark of unpredictability that fuels his muse and keeps him in the present day despite a career spanning over seven decades.

Kronos Quartet, joined by the Hard Rain Collective, released the EP Hard Rain on July 16, 2025 via Red Hot Organization. To mark the 80th anniversary of the Trinity nuclear test, the quartet offers two reimaginings of Bob Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall”: a sung rendition featuring Iggy Pop, Willie Nelson, Allison Russell, Stephin Merritt, Tanya Tagaq, and others, and a spoken-word “Drone” version with Ringo Starr, Tom Morello, Nadya Tolokonnikova, Ocean Vuong, and more. All proceeds benefit the Red Hot Organization.
