Although not the owner of conventional high-level vocal skills, Bardot invested her frivolous songs with a contagious sense of playful fun, and a refusal to take the music or herself too seriously. Certainly some of the tunes – and their breathy delivery – capitalize on her iconic sex kitten persona. But the guileless joy she projects is reminiscent of some of the early work by France Gall (one of the finest '60s French pop singers), though Bardot's voice is less girlish and more adult in tone.

In addition, some albums were reissued by Universal Music Group under the Universal Masters Collection and Millennium Edition titles.

Layla stands as one of a handful of pillars of classic rock. The short-lived ensemble that was the Dominos provided an outlet for Eric Clapton to vent his then unrequited (and secret) passion for the wife of his best friend, George Harrison. Romantic anguish inspired Clapton to write and collect an embroiling and interconnected song cycle. Meanwhile, latecomer Duane Allman prodded Clapton to tear it up on guitar, so as not to be overwhelmed by his even more talented foil. Of course, Clapton eventually won the hand of his lady love. On 100 X Vive la France there are 100 tracks that perfectly reflect the feeling of 50 years of French music. From veterans such as Charles Trenet, Henri Salvador, Yves Montand and Catherine Sauvage to more recent artists such as In-Grid, Renaud and others. The tracks are arranged chronologically on the CDs and are thus a nice overview of half a century French music.
